11 Sep Burkina Faso: TACTIS will monitor the implementation of Phase 1 of the National Fiber Optic Network
The French consultancy firm TACTIS will monitor and monitor the implementation of the first phase of the national fiber optic network in Burkina Faso. The company specializing in digital shared infrastructure projects (telecom networks, data centers, data platforms, digital terrestrial networks (fixed and mobile broadband) and Smart City projects, to award this contract by the Council of Ministers of the Republic, meeting on 6 September 2017 in Ouagadougou.
The award to TACTIS of the market for monitoring and control of the implementation of phase 1 of the national fiber optic network in Burkina Faso follows the request for proposals published on 13 September 2016 by the Ministry of Development of digital economy and positions for the recruitment of a consulting firm for this purpose. The contract worth 3.8 billion FCFA will have to be executed within 14 months.
Phase 1 of the national fiber network in Burkina Faso will be carried out by the Singapore-based company Huawei International PTE Limited. It represents 2,001 km of the total 5,443 km of the national network. The construction of this first phase is valued at US $ 91 million, out of the US $ 241 million cost of the national fiber network as a whole.
