18 Apr Cameroon to extend international fibre interconnection
Cameroon said it will continue to provide advanced fibre connections to other countries in central and western Africa, after Equatorial Guinea and Chad, reports APA. Cameroon is working to extend the interconnection to other neighbouring countries, according to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL), after a meeting on the progress made in the backbone project of the Cameroonian component of the Central African fibre network.
Efforts are under way to interconnect Cameroon with the Central African Republic, Congo and Nigeria. These are underpinned by the signing of memoranda of understanding with the authorities of these countries.
