06 Oct Kenya: Econet Media launches Kwese TV bouquet in Kenya
Econet Media has brought its satellite service Kwese TV to Kenya and is offering a free 30 day subscription for new customers. Kenyans will be familiar with Kwese’s free-to-air sports channel, Kwese Free Sports, which launched there last year. The launch of Kwese TV brings the full service to the market, with popular channels such as DreamWorks, CNN and DTX, and local free-to-air channels such as KTN KBC and NTV.
Kwese is a multi-platform and multi-screen broadcaster providing more than 60 channels. They can be accessed on Kwese’s satellite set-top decoder box at Kwese branded shops or online via the Kwese eStore and Jumia.
Kwese also brings Kenya its first ever “pay as you watch” model, enabling viewers to purchase three, seven and 30 day passes to its full channel bouquet, with premium content starting at KES 475, it said. Programmes include drama, reality TV, current affairs, sports and children’s shows. Sporting content includes NBA, ESPN (both exclusive), Premier League (EPL), Copa Del Rey, Netball Africa and the National Football League.
