Abuja — Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has urged Airtel Nigeria, to simplify the process of connecting to the 4G network to ensure inclusiveness and also capture the interests of all telecom consumers regardless of income and social status.
Speaking at the launch of Airtel 4G LTE service in Abuja, the minister stressed the need for Airtel to deploy the service to every part of the country, to boost internet penetration in both the served and underserved areas.
He observed that the launch of 4G service is in line with government’s plan of empowering Nigerians, and democratising mobile broadband and making it affordable.
He said: “I urge you to sustain this giant stride in the interest of ensuring equity amongst the various communities to ensure inclusiveness for all no matter their social or income status.”
Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Segun Ogunsanya, observed that Airtel has been modernising and upgrading its network, adding that Abuja will witness a new experience.
