04 Aug Senegal: Macky Sall approves the transfer of the GSM license from Tigo to Wari and blocks the alternative of Millicom
On 02 August 2017, the Government of the Republic of Senegal published the decree of the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, which approved the transfer of the license for the establishment and operation of telecommunications networks Open to the public from Tigo Senegal to Wari Group.

In a statement announcing the cancellation of the sale of its Senegalese subsidiary to Wari Group, MIC unveiled the signing of a new agreement for the sale of Tigo Senegal with the consortium formed by Teyliom Telecom, NJJ, and Sofima, Investment in telecommunications managed by the Axian Group.
In a statement issued to denounce MIC’s “unilateral” cancellation of the surrender agreement, Wari Group accused the consortium of Teyliom Telecom, NJJ, and Sofima of attempting several times to do The process of acquiring Tigo Senegal.
