Burkina Faso will soon be equipped with a Virtual Landing Point (VAP) and an Internet Exchange Point (IXP), essential components of the national broadband telecommunications infrastructure project.
On July 6, 2019, in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkinabe Minister of Development, Digital Economy and Post, Hadja Fatimata Ouattara / Sanon, accompanied by Soumaïla Ouédraogo, the representative in charge of the Minister of Communication, proceeded to launch of the construction works, the building that will house these electronic communication infrastructures. The building will be housed in the courtyard of the Burkina Faso Broadcasting Corporation (SBT).
According to Hadja Fatimata Ouattara / Sanon, building the building that will act as a computer airport reflects “the government’s desire to work to provide broadband to the population.”
