PowerCom (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Telecom Namibia dedicated to the development of telecom infrastructure, announces the investment of N $ 27 million (US $ 1.8 million) in 2020.
Alisa Amupolo, the company’s general manager, said new towers will be built across the country, and will help extend the telecom footprint for better service quality in strategic areas of the country. Internet access.
“The construction of new towers, especially in rural areas, will bring much improved connectivity to citizens and businesses,” said Alisa Amupolo. She added that this operation will not only contribute to increasing the effectiveness of communication throughout the country, but will also stimulate the development of other activities.
The new telecom towers will be built in Erongo, Khomas, Kharas, Hardap, Oshikoto, Otjozondjupa and Kunene regions. PowerCom has announced that it will also spend around N $ 1 million ($ 0.068 million) next year to maintain 80 existing towers across the country.
