On the sidelines of the UK-Africa Investment Summit, held from 20 to 21 January 2020 in London, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, received a delegation from the group British telecoms Vodafone, parent company of Vodacom Congo.

During the exchange, several points were addressed, in particular, a reinforced investment by the telecoms company in DR Congo for development in various segments, in particular the financial inclusion of the population.

Vivek Badrinath, President and CEO of Vodafone for the Africa, Middle East, Asia and Pacific region, after this exchange, revealed to the press the commitment of the Vodafone group, in general, and Vodacom Congo, in particular, taken before the Head of State to work for the development of the DR Congo and to support the country in its transition to a digital world.

After the Vodafone delegation, President Félix Tshisekedi received the President and CEO of the Indian telecoms group Bharti Airtel, Sunil Mittal, in audience. It was January 23, 2020, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which was held in Switzerland from January 21 to 25, 2020. With the president of DR Congo, the boss of Bharti Airtel discussed the prospects for development of the telecoms company in the country, the investment to improve the network and offer innovative services.
