Extensia are pleased to announce the dates and location for this year’s IAD DCS Summit. This year’s summit will take place at the Sheraton Addis in Ethiopia, on the 11th and 12th May, in partnership with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MiNT) and the Ethiopian Communication Authority (ECA).
IAD DCS is a Pan African summit focused on the alignment of ICT technology with the services and content that will support the growth and development of the African continent.
Tariq Malik, CEO of Extensia says “ICT is an enabler and as technology advances and connectivity increases, it is imperative that we seize the moment and take full advantage of these valuable resources. While we must recognize that service and infrastructure providers are understandably focused on commercial objectives, we are also guided by the UN’s 2030 sustainable development goals.”
H.E. Belete Molla Getahun, Minister of Innovation and Technology says “Through creating interconnectedness and thereby widening the human horizon, Digital Technologies have created unprecedented opportunities to an inclusive development specially for developing countries. Ethiopia cannot afford to miss this opportunity. However, such development does not come so easily unless supported by the right policies and grassroot investment initiatives.”
Key themes of the summit include:
- National Agenda Acceleration
- Policy and Regulation
- Technology Roadmaps and
- Drivers for Growth.
The timing of this year’s IAD DCS Summit is set to coincide with the launch of Safaricom Ethiopia’s service launch. A momentous time for Ethiopia’s history and eagerly awaited by the global community. Following the huge success of IAD 2021 and the many discussions Extensia has held with governments across Africa regarding the IAD series, IAD DCS will set a new standard for ICT events in Africa. Moving beyond the usual ‘talking shop’ events, IAD DCS will play an active role in the acceleration of Africa’s ICT maturity, country by country.
IAD DCS attracts the usual high caliber of attendee, synonymous with the IAD summit series. Attendance is restricted to senior decision makers from across Africa, who play a key role in the digital transformation of their country and is limited to 300 attendees with all participants qualified to participate. The summit will also be attended by carefully selected international investors, consultants, solution providers and vendors, all vetted to ensure relevance to the objectives of the delegate attendees. Alongside a World class conference agenda, attendees enjoy high level networking opportunities, focused workshops and facilitated business meetings over the 2 days of the summit. Delegates leave an IAD summit with new insights and useful resources. They make high level connections with peers and potential partners and assess advances in technology.
