Angolan telecommunications operator Unitel has chosen Chinese technology giant Huawei as a strategic partner for its future projects. The two companies recently signed a three-year agreement to lay a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.

Under the partnership, Huawei will help Unitel continuously increase its network capacity and coverage as well as introduce fifth-generation (5G) mobile technology to provide better services and enhance the optimal user experience. users. The agreement also covers radio access network (RAN), transmission and innovative services such as residential service, CEM solution and mobile money.

This cooperation agreement comes a few weeks after Unitel signed an agreement with Huawei to deploy and integrate green energy solutions at its telecom sites. The company then announced that it planned to work with its Chinese partner for new services such as 5G and home broadband. These various investments are part of Unitel’s desire to strengthen its leading position in the Angolan telecom market where competition has recently increased with the launch of the commercial activities of the American company Africell on April 7. . A month later, she claimed to have gained 2 million subscribers.
