Mozambique’s government has committed to improving connectivity in rural areas by installing free Wi-Fi internet access points in all 154 districts of the country by 2024. A press release from the National Communications Institute (Instituto Nacional de Comunicacoes de Mocambique, INCM) says alongside the deployment of these ‘digital squares’, authorities will be enabling free broadband internet access at 620 secondary schools. Wi-Fi access points have already been installed at 93 locations, with 40 schools also covered.
