More Africa NewsAlgeria: Ooredoo once again trusts PI Works to improve its telecom network

June 28, 2022by myles0

Ooredoo Algeria ranks third on the national telecom market in terms of subscriber base, behind Mobilis and Djezzy. The company puts the odds on its side to provide better services to its subscribers and to be able to attract new ones.

The telecommunications operator Ooredoo Algeria has strengthened its ongoing partnership with the company PI Works, which specializes in providing planning, management and optimization solutions for mobile networks. As part of this partnership, PI Works will provide new technology solutions to improve the performance of Ooredoo’s telecom network.

Under the new project, PI Works will provide Ooredoo Algeria with RAN optimization services for its 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The first phase of the project focuses on optimizing resources by increasing organizational efficiency through automation. This phase also includes a three-year network assurance service.

Ooredoo and PI Works began their collaboration in 2018. During the four-year partnership, PI Works deployed its EXA network automation solution on the group’s networks in seven markets, including Algeria. The new partnership comes in a context marked by increased competition in the telecoms market and the explosion in demand for broadband connectivity. In competition with the incumbent operator Algérie Telecom, Optimum Telecom Algérie (Djezzy), Ooredoo Algérie occupies third place in the market with its 12.6 million subscribers in 2021.

At Ooredoo Algeria, we strive to provide the best customer experience possible. We are confident that PI Works’ network optimization solution and accurate network planning capabilities will meet our requirements to meet and exceed this goal ,” said Timos Tsokanis, Chief Technology Officer at Ooredoo Algeria.
