The CEO of the Vodacom Group, Shameel Joosub, recently conducted a three-day visit to Mozambique, accompanied by the CEO of International Markets for the Vodacom Group, Diego Gutierrez A., and the CEO of Legal Affairs for the Vodacom Group, Nkateko Nyoka. During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to interact with various partners of our institution, being received in separate meetings by the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Amilton Alissone, and the Chairman of the INCM Board, Tuaha Mote.

In each of these meetings, topics such as Vodacom’s contribution to the growth of the Mozambican economy, the strong interest in investment in the national network, as well as coverage plans with a primary focus on rural expansion, were discussed among other aspects. The expansion of financial inclusion through M-Pesa was also discussed, along with the contribution of the Vodacom Group to the socio-economic development of Mozambique through the implementation of social investment projects and job creation.

Shameel, Diego, and Nkateko also met with some of our corporate clients as a way to further encourage business relationships and partnerships within the private sector. Additionally, they participated in an event with all Vodacom Mozambique employees, during which the Vodacom Group’s strategy was discussed, centered on three pillars: Customer, Simplicity, and Growth.

The Vodacom Group focuses on simplifying its internal processes and offerings to facilitate customer journeys, aiming for more growth opportunities and service quality.

The CEO of the Vodacom Group has previously been in Mozambique, and these visits are part of the Vodacom Group’s external relations strengthening program in the markets where it operates.
