Benin signs with Japanese NEC-XON for the dematerialization of its administrative services

The Republic of Benin – represented by its Minister for Digital and Digitalisation, Aurélie Adam Soulé Zoumarou – signed last week a memorandum of understanding with NEC-XON, represented by Johan Slabber the director general of Africa Japanese technology group. Through this agreement, NEC-XON will assist the government in the dematerialization of its services.
According to the Ministry of Digital and Digitalization, NEC-XON will support the State of Benin in projects for the complete digitalization of sectoral administrations, the supply of digital solutions for public security, the dematerialization of procedures, the supply of solutions for infrastructure and economic models for rural connectivity and the implementation of collaborative architectures and spaces.
Minister Aurélie Adam Soulé Zoumarou stressed that this agreement also reflects the willingness of large companies to work with Benin.
Japanese Ambassador to Benin Kiyofumi Konishi said the agreement between the country and the company is the result of discussions since the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7), held in Japan in August 2019.
