Orange upgrades 4G network in Botswana

Orange Botswana has announced the launch of LTE-A services, increasing data transfer rates on its 4G network. The upgrades, which are being branded 4G+, have so far reached parts of Greater Gaborone and Francistown and will eventually cover much of the country, the operator said. As part of the launch Orange has also lowered the prices of some of its mobile data bundles and increased the daily bandwidth on its ‘All My Friends’ tariffs from 200MB to 500MB. Orange is the second largest of Botswana’s three cellcos in subscriber terms, ahead of Botswana Telecommunications Corporation but behind market leader Mascom, which is majority owned by MTN Group of South Africa.
