Tanzania: pay-TV operator Azam TV migrates to Eutelsat’s 7C satellite

The Tanzanian pay-TV operator Azam TV has migrated its 7B satellite platform to the 7C model at Eutelsat. The two companies have also renewed their collaboration for several years.
The Tanzanian pay-TV operator Azam TV has migrated its platform from Eutelsat’s 7B satellite to the operator’s 7C model. The information was made public on September 21 in a press release.
In theory, Azam TV and its 120 channels should benefit from increased performance with the Eutelsat 7C satellite to cover its markets, which are mainly made up of subscribers living in Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Kenya and Rwanda. “We are proud to continue to support Azam, one of our benchmark customers in the 7 ° East orbital position, as part of the expansion of its broadcasting offer”, said Patrice Paquot, regional director of ‘Eutelsat for Sub-Saharan Africa.
“All households subscribed to Azam TV will be able to access a wide variety of regional and international programs broadcast with excellent signal quality. We are delighted to be able to rely on Eutelsat to benefit from the unique coverage of its 7 ° East pole ” , declared Jacob Joseph, Deputy Managing Director of the Tanzanian operator.
Note that the press release also announced the renewal “over several years” of the collaboration agreement between the two companies.
