Burkina Faso: Telecel joins Orange and Onatel on 4G +

The attribution to telecom operators of technologically neutral licenses, initiated in 2017 in Burkina Faso, ended on December 7 with the launch of 4G + by Telecel Faso. The last company to enter this segment after Orange and Onatel, it announces quality connectivity at a low price.
The mobile telephone operator Telecel Faso launched 4G + on Monday, December 7. The company thus joins Orange and the National Telecommunications Office (Onatel) of Burkina Faso, a subsidiary of the Maroc Telecom group, which launched this mobile technology respectively in January and March 2019.
According to Dimitri Ouédraogo, the managing director of Telecel Faso, the company is lagging behind its competitors because it has given itself all the time necessary to build a ” robust, secure and extremely reliable ” network, in order to offer the best possible very high speed broadband experience to the population. “ In terms of connectivity, in terms of cost, we are going to make the difference,” he stressed.
Present at the launching ceremony of Telecel Faso’s 4G + network, the Burkinabé Minister of Development of the Digital Economy and Posts, Hadja Ouattara, declared that it marks the end of the ” process of attributing technologically neutral licenses to operators. for a period of 15 years; a process that started at the end of 2017 ”.
The Minister indicated that beyond these telecom licenses supposed to improve the quality of services provided to the populations, “the State will continue to strengthen the infrastructures, because we come from far away. Today, we are more than 7,000 kilometers from optical fibers in Burkina Faso ”.
