Nigeria: Hotspot Network Limited offers Parallel Wireless expertise to bring telecoms to 2,000 villages

In order to improve the living conditions of rural populations thanks to telecoms, Hotspot Network Limited is building a virtual network in the villages. The idea is to encourage telecom operators to connect to it to offer their services. The solution is less expensive than building your own network.
Network as a Service (NaaS) provider Hotspot Network Limited will cover 2,000 pre-selected villages in Nigeria with 2G, 3G and 4G networks. To achieve its goal, the company has acquired the technological expertise of Parallel Wireless, a US provider of end-to-end solutions for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G software-defined open radio access networks (Open RAN).
Through this strategic partnership with Parallel Wireless, Hotspot Network Limited aims to empower regional mobile operators to build and expand their wireless networks across Nigeria, providing next-generation digital services to local communities. It will also contribute to the success of the Digital Farmers Club (DFC), Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) and NITDA Adopted Village for Smart Agriculture (NAVSA) programs initiated by the government to improve the standard of living of citizens through digital.
Hotspot Network Limited has signed a business agreement with MTN to deploy more than 2,000 telecom sites across Nigeria, and Morenikeji Aniye, its founder and CEO, believes that “ Parallel Wireless’ leading 2G 3G 4G 5G Open RAN platform, innovative and easy to deploy, will allow their faster time to market to provide wireless Internet to consumers and businesses ”.
