Vodacom Business Africa offers carrier Ethernet, dedicated internet access

Vodacom Business Africa (VBA) says it is introducing Carrier Ethernet and Managed Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) services to enable clients to take up digital opportunities on its footprint of 47 countries in Africa. Vodacom said these work alongside other converged fixed and mobile connectivity services to give organisations a future-ready network product that is fast, open, hyper-interconnected and software-defined. This reliably and securely connects the enterprise, its services and the cloud, says Wale Odeyemi, executive head of strategic marketing at Vodacom Business Africa.

With DIA, Vodacom said businesses are guaranteed to receive the bandwidth they require, irrespective of the type of infrastructure that is available at their location. Carrier Ethernet comes with tools that provide Information Technology (IT) managers with visibility and control of the performance and availability of their large-scale network services from a single platform, making monitoring and troubleshooting far simpler.
