Botswana Telecommunications Corporation entrusts the modernization of its mobile network to Infovista
November 24th 2022
Consumer needs for telecom services have changed a lot since the Covid-19 pandemic. Botswana’s incumbent telecom operator wants to modernize its network system to meet current and future industry challenges and remain competitive over the next few years.
Incumbent operator Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) has selected Infovista’s technology to modernize its existing mobile network and prepare it for the upcoming deployment of fifth-generation (5G) mobile technology. A signed agreement between the two parties was unveiled on Tuesday, November 22.
The contract includes the deployment of Infovista’s TEMS Pocket, TEMS Paragon, TEMS Discovery and Planet solutions to test, assess, optimize and evaluate the performance of BTC’s existing and future mobile network, in order to improve the quality of services and the experience of telecom operator subscribers. As part of this partnership, Infovista will be assisted by its partner MOZARK.
The modernization of BTC’s network is part of the company’s digital transformation project. In its financial results for the year ended March 2022, the company said its strategic vision for the next few years is to improve the customer experience of its subscribers by providing them with enhanced service offerings and seamless interaction.
“ As we prepare to deploy 5G, we are confident that the combination of Infovista’s network planning and testing solutions gives us the capabilities we need to seamlessly and cost-effectively deploy and improve our network 4, 5G and continue to deliver the best possible quality of experience to our customers ,” said Peter Olyn, Chief Technology Officer at BTC.
