In Tunisia, Ooredoo entrusts LigaData to improve its large-scale data management capabilities

Telecoms company Ooredoo Tunisia has signed a partnership agreement with American telecoms solutions provider LigaData to strengthen its large-scale data management capabilities. This is expected to enable the mobile operator to improve customer experience, increase revenue and boost operational efficiency.

With the LigaData data platform, we can leverage the power of open source technology to unlock new insights from our data and drive innovation”, said Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, Managing Director of Ooredoo .

This new partnership is part of the Ooredoo group’s strategy aimed at leading the digital transformation of its network across all of its markets in a context marked by growing demand and the constant increase in telecoms traffic. In March 2023, the company signed an agreement with Nokia for the modernization of its network infrastructure in Algeria and Tunisia. In addition, its Tunisian subsidiary launched IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) and voice over LTE (VoLTE) in November 2023.

The collaboration with LigaData should allow Ooredoo Tunisia to strengthen the quality of telecoms services in order to meet the demand of its subscribers and attract new ones. The company had 6.7 million mobile subscribers at the end of October 2023 for a market share of 41%, according to the National Telecommunications Authority of Tunisia (INT). It also controls 13.9% of the fixed telephone market and 42% of the mobile Internet market.
