Helios Towers leading the charge for Africa’s digital future as headline sponsor for the Connect 2 Connect (C2C) Africa Summit in Tanzania

Arusha, Tanzania – 18th September 2024 – Helios Towers, a leading telecom infrastructure company, is
pleased to announce its role as the headline sponsor of the 8th edition of the Connect 2 Connect
(C2C) Africa Summit 2024. The summit, organised by Extensia Limited in collaboration with the
Tanzanian Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology, will be held at the Gran
Melia Hotel, Arusha, on September 18th and 19th.

As a key player in the telecom industry, Helios Towers has played an important role in advancing
Tanzania’s digital infrastructure, its largest market by site count. Counting over 4,176 tower sites across
the country, the company has built over 290 sites in rural regions, significantly contributing to Tanzania’s
“Digital Tanzania” initiative, which aims to provide 80% network coverage by 2025. This expansion, in
partnership with the Universal Communication Service Access Fund (UCSAF), brings essential
connectivity to underserved areas.

Complementing its infrastructure projects, Helios Towers has implemented strategic community
investments to boost local digital access. In collaboration with NGO partner Camara, Helios Towers
contributed to establishing an ICT lab at Mkwajuni Secondary School in Zanzibar, improving students’
access to digital education.

Gwakisa Stadi, Managing Director of Helios Towers Tanzania and Regional Director for East Africa, will
deliver the keynote address, sharing insights into Helios Towers’ vision for a sustainable, scalable telecom
infrastructure across the continent.

“We’re honoured to spearhead the dialogue at this year’s C2C Summit, as we work together with
industry pioneers to build a more connected, sustainable Africa,” said Gwakisa Stadi. “Strong, scalable
infrastructure is essential to unlocking the region’s digital potential, and events like C2C are crucial for
fostering collaboration and driving impactful transformation.”

The C2C Africa Summit 2024 is the telecom industry’s premier event, uniting top executives, thought
leaders, and government officials to explore critical topics such as network infrastructure, digital
resilience, and sustainable ecosystems. These discussions will shape the future of Africa’s digital
economy.
