Ghana and UAE discuss digital cooperation

Seeking to accelerate their digital transformation, African countries are increasing their meetings, seeking experienced partners in this field to support their strategies. In this context, Ghana is moving closer to a Gulf country.
Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, received an Emirati delegation led by Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al Marzooqi, Chairman of the Al Marzooqi Group, in Accra. Discussions focused on potential investment and development opportunities in the digital sector.
Samuel Nartey George highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering private investment in strategic areas such as data centers, cybersecurity, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. ” Blockchain technology is of particular interest to the government, particularly in the context of digitizing the Land Commission’s records, in order to reduce disputes and improve transparency .”
The government, he assured, is ready to put in place a regulatory framework conducive to foreign actors wishing to align with national priorities. This visit, which is scheduled to last until Wednesday, October 8, 2025, is part of an effort to create a business bridge between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates. If the discussions are successful, they could contribute to strengthening Ghana’s digital ecosystem.
