Axian Telecom is strengthening its B2B presence in response to growing demand in Africa

African businesses are increasingly interested in technological solutions that promise productivity, efficiency, and growth. Telecom operators are organizing themselves to meet this demand.

Telecom operator Yas Tanzania launched a new B2B unit earlier this week, designed to more effectively meet the needs of businesses in the context of accelerated digital transformation. This initiative is part of the structuring and strengthening of the enterprise division of the Axian Telecom group.

According to local press reports, Yas Business will focus on providing advanced digital services tailored for large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and public institutions. The platform will offer a range of solutions, including SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, Internet of Things (IoT) services, managed services, and a Tier 3 data center.

“  Yas Business brings together our enterprise capabilities under a stronger, more coherent identity, which reflects our commitment to helping businesses improve their performance, growth and opportunities through reliable connectivity and advanced digital solutions  ,” said Pierre Canton-Bacara, as quoted by Tanzania Insight .

A dynamic already underway in Axian Telecom’s other markets

This initiative in Tanzania is part of a dynamic already underway in other Axian Telecom group markets. Yas Business, in particular, was launched in Togo in November 2025 with the ambition “to support public and private companies, professionals and entrepreneurs to reach the next level through effective tools, structured support and a clear vision”.

The brand was also launched in Madagascar in February 2025 and in the Comoros in January 2025. It also has a strong presence in Senegal. In this country, the operator highlights an independent and secure infrastructure, based in particular on two international submarine cables (ACE and SAT3), with separate paths and landing points in Dakar. This architecture is complemented by a national network of over 10,000 km, combining fiber optics and microwave links.

The offer also relies on a Tier 3 certified data center. It includes dedicated support for companies of all sizes, from artisans to large groups and public institutions, through consulting, auditing and specialized customer support services.

A diversification driven by pressure on traditional revenues

Axian Telecom’s efforts to better structure its B2B offering come at a time when telecom operators are seeking to diversify their revenue streams beyond traditional segments, some of which are already showing signs of saturation. Providing technological solutions thus appears to be a growth driver for the sector.

The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) acknowledges that growing business demand for digital solutions presents significant opportunities for telecom operators. It also emphasizes that slow growth in average revenue per user (ARPU) is driving them to diversify their revenue streams.

According to GSMA Intelligence, the global B2B market potential for telecom operators exceeds $400 billion, representing approximately 35% of current mobile sector revenue. The “Mobile Economy Africa 2025” report further indicates that by 2030, the economic contribution of mobile telecommunications could reach approximately $270 billion in Africa, or 7.4% of GDP.

”  This expected growth results from productivity and efficiency gains linked to the development of mobile services and the increasing adoption of digital technologies, including 5G, IoT and artificial intelligence  ,” the report emphasizes.

Currently, the mobile and fixed segment represents 64% of the company’s revenue, which reached $1.69 billion in 2025. This is followed by mobile digital and financial services (17%), then infrastructure (11%). The remaining activities contribute 8%.
