Airtel Congo appoints Abdelkader Babakodo as Managing Director


Telecommunications operator Airtel Congo has announced the appointment of Abdelkader Babakodo as Managing Director. This appointment is part of the group’s strategy to accelerate the digital transformation of its Congolese subsidiary and consolidate its position in the national telecommunications market.

With over 18 years of experience in telecommunications in Africa, the new executive has developed expertise in GSM operations, mobile financial services (Mobile Money), and broadband. Throughout his career, he has led transformation projects, operational performance improvement initiatives, and business development projects across several markets on the continent.

According to Airtel Congo, Abdelkader Babakodo’s main missions will be to continue the company’s growth, accelerate its digital transformation, improve network quality, and enhance the customer experience. The development of digital services, as well as the promotion of digital and financial inclusion, are also among the announced priorities.
