
Congo Dem. Rep.: Huawei wants to be “major partner” of the Dem. Rep. Congo in the realization of its digital plan

The first edition of the E-DRC forum took place on February 19 and 20 in Kinshasa under the theme ” Investing in digital in the DRC “. Organized by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and New Information and Communication Technologies (PT-NTIC), the objective was to create public-private partnerships.
On this occasion, Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of PT-NTIC, through Adam Ma Qianli, CEO of Huawei RDC and Augustin Kibassa Maliba, Minister of PT-NTIC aimed at strengthening their cooperation in information and communication technology. This initiative also aims to deploy telecommunications infrastructure in the DRC.
Adam Ma Qianli, CEO of Huawei DRC said, ” As a strategic partner in the digitization of the DRC, Huawei is keen to make new investments in infrastructure in the country. We want to fully participate with the Ministry of PT-NTIC in the development of the Digital Plan and we hope to develop network coverage in rural areas. “
“ For the past ten years, Huawei has been one of the leading providers of 3G and 4G network solutions in the DRC. The first phase of the national backbone network expansion project, carried out in collaboration with SCPT, made it possible to increase the capacity of the broadband network from 10G to 100G, considerably improving the quality of the backbone network and becoming a pioneering project in the construction of ICT infrastructure in the DRC, ”he added.
Huawei invested since 2006 in digital construction on Congolese territory, thus collaborating with several local telecommunications operators such as Vodacom, Orange, Airtel or the Congolese Post and Telecommunications Company (SCPT).
In addition, Huawei RDC has through its annual project “Future Seed Plan”, selected as every year the best Congolese students who will travel to China to study and exchange in depth on information and communication technologies .
