Airtel Africa Foundation Expands Digital Skills Programme for Tanzanian Youth

The Airtel Africa Foundation, through Airtel Tanzania, is expanding digital skills and innovation opportunities for young people across Tanzania through its flagship Airtel Fursa Lab programme.
The foundation, in partnership with Airtel Money Tanzania and Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi), has renovated and relaunched the Fursa Lab at Kijitonyama Secondary School in Dar es Salaam.
The facility is designed to provide young people with access to digital tools and practical skills that can help them develop innovative solutions to challenges within their communities.
According to the Airtel Africa Foundation, the programme has so far reached more than 5,800 people, including students, teachers, young people, entrepreneurs and women.
Participants are gaining hands-on experience designed to help them apply digital knowledge to real-world challenges while strengthening their capacity to develop and implement solutions within their communities.
The foundation said the programme is also addressing gaps in digital infrastructure and skills, with the broader objective of preparing young people to create, adapt and lead in an increasingly digital economy.
Beyond digital education and skills development, Airtel Fursa Lab is supporting wider digital inclusion and promoting environmental sustainability while creating opportunities for the next generation of innovators across Tanzania.
The programme forms part of Airtel Africa Foundation’s broader efforts to expand access to digital opportunities and equip communities with skills needed to participate more fully in the digital economy.
